So things have been really busy for us lately again. Now that I have a chance to blog, I will. Even though Tommy and I work, there are other things we get busy with.
For the month of April, there was one night a week where the Base club does crab legs boil. So the first time we went was two weeks ago and then we went again this past week. It was so good. Not so expensive as Red Lobster but still a bit pricey and very delicious. We also went with some friends a couple weeks ago to the Base club for wing night. They serve really good wings flavored as BBQ, Hot, or Mild. They are good and cheap so it works. We have gone in the past as well.
So we are actually doing something about Duke's barking. It has been driving us nuts and we don't want his barking to make the neighbors mad. A couple weeks ago, I was like we need to do something about his barking. He constantly barks and howls and whines alot so Tommy and I looked online to see what we could do to control it. We actually had a few options. One was the spray citronella barking collar and another was the shock barking collar. Well I didn't want our first option to be the shocking collar so Tommy and I discussed it and we decided on the spray citronella barking collar. We bought it at Walmart and it actually works. The vet also suggested something like that and so that is good. We tried it for a day and noticed in a couple days there was improvement on how less Duke barked and whined. The only thing we have to do is replace the old bottle with a new spray bottle when it runs out. Everytime Duke barks, it sprays in front of him. It smells like lemons but it is a smell dogs don't like so that is the trick in helping him stop barking. It is actually funny because we will smell the lemons and hear the spray go off and see it right in front of his face. It is getting to the point where if we take off the spray collar, he doesn't attempt to bark because he still thinks it will spray in front of his face. Haha!!
So a couple days ago our air conditioning decided to stop working. It has only been blowing room temperature air and so our home was really hot. It was so hard to even be inside the house. It was hard to sleep upstairs. So we turned on all the ceiling fans in the house (a whole two that we have) haha and turned on the stand up fan in our bedroom. That didn't seem to help much so our neighbor offered to have us borrow his portable air conditioning unit until our air conditioner is fixed. We set it to 70 degress and the house cooled down. We went out for the evening and came home and the home was nice and cool. It was a little warmer upstairs but it was still cooler than it was. We were worried about our pets as well especially since we weren't there. So our landlord is going to have some maitenance air conditioning guy come out and look at it and see what needs to be done. Our neighbor had the same issue a couple days ago and he had a whole new air conditioning unit installed. We would be happy to have a new one.
So Relay for Life was last night. Tommy walked around the track at the college gym downtown. There was wood house Tommy helped his boss make yesterday before it started and that was our station where we all hung out. In our group, people sold water and made beads and sold them to make $$. Tommy wore his Relay for Life shirt. The event lasted all night but we only stayed until 10:30 p.m. We were tired and Tommy and I both had to wake up early the next morning. Tommy had a uniform inspection this morning and everything went fine. Then he had to be at work with all the other people to clean up the shop they were working at to prepare for the BIG inspection next week. That will be a big headache for Tommy and everyone because there is a lot to get prepared for a to be inspected on. The inspection lasts all week. Then after that things should go back to normal Tommy said as far as work goes.
Tommy has been working overnights and I mean his schedule is all sorts of messed up. He goes in 11 p.m. and gets off around 11 a.m. instead of the normal 7 a.m. the next morning. By the time he gets home, gets sleep and wakes up for dinner if he gets up for dinner, it is time for him to get ready for work and then go to work all over again. He has been so exhuasted lately working overnights and not getting enough sleep. I so worry about him because he started to not feel good this morning. When he usually sleeps at night, he was sleeping all night last night and had to be up this morning. So that right there makes it so hard for him.
I took Duke to the vet this morning. The vet is very happy with Duke's progess. She says he is growing well and tells me we are doing a good job at trying to train him and taking good care of him. He goes back in three weeks for his BIG appointment. He will be getting spayed. Fun Fun!! We have to do what we have to do.
So I will blog more when I have more to blog about.

We celebrated our anniversary a few days earlier, Easter Day was good, etc
So ever since we got back from our trip the end of March to see family in Utah, things have been really busy for us. We went back to work and had the weekends off but it seems like there is always something to be done around the house or going out and doing something.
I've been painting something in my spare time for us and for Carl and McKenzie's baby. I really enjoy painting. Sometimes it seems like a lot to drag all the paints and stuff out but actually paining is fun. I bought one of those fold up tables so I can paint on it. I like it because I can be out in the living room with Tommy if we are watching t.v or something and still paint. Also, I don't have to worry about getting our coffee table or my desk ruined with paint.
We decided to celebrate our 3 year anniversary early. We went to the Steamboat Arabia in the city market in Kansas City, Missouri. We had gone there with my parents when they visited the first year Tommy and I were married. It is really neat. The Steamboat Arabia was what a family found in a farmer's field about 45 feet underground and they dug it up and researched it, collected everything from it and made a museum there for people to come and explore. This happened in 1856 and they are still finding items in the Missouri River. There I bought a ruby ring. The city market was cool, we bought some canolies and ate them. They are so delicous. It makes me want to buy the canoli shells and filling and make a lot of them since they are so good. We ate at a fancy chinese place. It was good. Then we went to The Legend's outlet mall in Kansas City, Kansas. We walked through a lot of shops and went inside the TREX restaurant. It was decorated with dinosaurs and animated dinosaurs. There was a descent size shop. It was pretty cool. We didn't eat there but we looked around. We ended up being gone all day and headed back home. We were tired from walking all day so it was nice to get home.
Easter day was good. Hope everyone had a great Easter. Tommy grilled duck. He found this one recipe in a grilling cookbook called Garlic Ginger Duck and he made a homemade orange sauce to go with it. It was really good. He also made fried corn and grilled red onions. For dessert we had ice cream and easter candy yummy yummy!! I wanted to color eggs or make Easter cookies but since Tommy and I get so busy working, I didn't have time to do any of it. While Tommy was grilling, he had Haley and Duke outside playing. They loved it.
Our pets are well. Duke has become more vocal and barks and howls a lot more and barks and howls back at us when we say the word no!! He is more hyper than he use to be and we aren't sure if it is because he is getting older or he didn't get the attention he needed while we were away. Everything went fine when we took him to the vet. He goes back in two weeks.
One of our friends is going to Iraq. So we told his wife that if she and his daughter need anything to ask us. We will here to help them out. Also, our other friend is going to Korea in a couple weeks. We have a close friendsip with them so we will help out his wife and daughter as well if she needs anything. We are hoping to get together with them before they leave.
I am hoping to dye my hair soon. Probably a reddish color again since the red looks good.
Well, that's all for now!!

My poor Aunt Jean passed away
As I was getting my purse and clocking out of work last night, my mom sent me a text message letting me know my aunt had passed away yesterday. As I write this, I am in tears. I am crying, it is so hard not to cry. I have cried so much and feel that blogging this can help to a point. I called my dad and talked to him. Also my mother in-law and McKenzie called me. I really wish Tommy had met her before she had gotten so sick and passed away. I wish she was able to be at our wedding and us be able to say goodbye before all this. It is just so hard to accept this right now especially because we were told she was getting better and they thought about putting her though rebab. I didn't work today. It just tears me up inside to not have seen her recently. Tommy is so supportive and if he could have been here with me today instead of work, he would have. It hurts him to be at work rather than here. Just the other day we wrote out Aunt Jean and Uncle Gary's Easter card and was going to send it soon and I actually thought about how she was doing. I should have asked so I knew. Anyway, it will be awhile before we get over the healing process. Aunt Jean you are in our prayers and remember we will always love you.

Our Utah Trip
So Tommy and I went to Utah for our neice's blessing. We met baby Abail. She is so tiny and cute. I just couldn't stop watching her smile and look around at everything and everyone. Everyone thought she was the cutest little thing. Thanks so much Diana and Al for everything. We had a great time. We met Al's parents, and some of his family. Everyone is very nice. The drive out there took 21 hours. The drive back took 24 hours. We didn't stop at a hotel. We only stopped to get gas, use the bathroom, and get food and drinks. We wanted to drive straight threw so we did. We got behind due to snow in Kansas, Colarado and Utah. We left Thursday afternoon after I got off work and we finished packing and dropped off the dogs at our friends houses and arrived Friday late afternoon. There was a blizzard so we had to go extra slow. We were so exhausted. That night we all went out to dinner at Tucano's buffet/brazillion restaurant. We loved it. It was a noisy crowded place but the food was so delicious. Wish we had that restaurant where we live. It is expensive but it is totally worth it. You get so much food. The next morning, Al's mom made breakfast. It was very good. Then some family went shopping while others stayed home with Diana and Abby. Tommy and I stayed at the house for the most part. Then later that day, Al and his brother grilled while his mom cooked in the kitchen. Everything tasted so good. We had dinner and so it was a nice day. The next morning, we all got ready and went to Abby's blessing. The blessing was very nice. Al gave a speech to Abby in front of everyone so that was really special. Then we all came back to the house, took pictures and hung out. We left that afternoon and arrived home Monday night. We bought some souveneirs from the states we drove through so that was cool. Diana and Al really liked the gifts Mom and Dad J got her, what we got her and the frame and plaque I painted for Abby. It was a great trip. Short but nice. Our pets were so happy to see us. We were happy to see them too. Saturday is Duke's three week vet checkup and vaccination appt. He should be over the gaurdia, which will be good. Now it is back to work!! Fun fun, haha!! I posted pics of our trip, so you can see.
