Negative Degree Weather, Our plans for Saturday, Tommy's work schedule, etc

So living in the Midwest, we can get some really cold weather especially when it drops down to O degrees and then even -5, -10 degrees. That is what we got yesterday. The high for us was 11 degrees. Wow, that is freezing. My face felt like it was going to fall off, hahah. I wore my leather jacket, a scarf, and mittens and I was still very cold. It defintely made the inside of our home very cold too, so heat is a great thing.

We are going with friends to Kansas City this weekend so they can get a puppy and so we are bringing Haley so they can play at the park together. One of friends thought it would be a great idea for the dogs to meet and have fun so we are looking forward to that. It will be warmer probably in the 40's so that will be nice. It is definitely better than negative digits.

Tommy starts Day shift next week. We are so happy about that. This past week he worked 12 hour shifts including working on the weekend for 7 days and then worked this week on top of that so he is very tired. He is ready for a day off which will be tomorrow believe it or not. He had to work evening shift this week. The poor guy needs to take it easy now and sleep. All he did really was sleep, work, and eat this past week. He worked 12 days straight without a day off. So last weekend I had a friend over. She went grocery shopping with me, and hung out with me at my house while her husband was sleeping since he worked overnights and while Tommy was working during the day. It was nice. I made Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken recipe, which is a homemade Rachael Ray recipe out of one of my Rachael Ray cookbooks. We had it with Au Gratin Potatoes and fried corn mixed with butter and red pepper. It is Tommy and my favorite meal so I wanted to do something nice since he was working those long hours and had to work the weekend.

My work is going ok. Now that the holidays are over, things are finally getting back to normal. It is a little slower but still hectic as always working there.

Haley and our cats are good. Our cats learned to jump in the windows between the curtains and blinds because they like to look out. It drives us crazy, because we can see something getting broken. Also the cats are fascinated with water for some reason, so when ever we have the water running, they jump on the bathroom counter and watch the water drip and they play in the water. They are all loving each other. They are all very spoiled.
